Hi guys,

This is the first time I post an outfit on my blog. I’m not really a fashionista or something and I’ve never done something like this but I thought why not give it a try. There is a first time for everything. So last Saturday my dad and I decided to shoot some photos for the blog. It was fun to ‘model’, but I really have to work on my serious face I look soooo angry (didn’t mean to though).

Well let’s talk about the outfit. It’s very simple. The burgundy turtleneck is from Primark. I love turtleneck shirts and especially this one because the color is lovely! The black highwaisted jeans are from H&M, love their jeans. They fit me perfectly and aren’t expensive. The black heel booties are from Van Haren and the denim jacket is from H&M (but I got it from a friend 🙂 ) The denim jacket wasn’t originally meant to fit with the outfit but it was so cold! And in the end it looks pretty cool.

Also I love the setting, we made these pictures on Strijp S, a very cool place. I’m working on a post about this place so I can show you guys more! Oh and I’m sorry for the overload of ‘me -pictures’, the end photos look really cool but it feels so strange to upload so many photos of my self.

Thanks for reading, enjoy your day!

Hair Care Routine: Frizzy & Dry Hair

IMG_4380.JPG

There are so many different hair types and every hairtype needs their own hair care routine. My hair is frizzy, dry and curly/wavy-something. When I was younger I never knew how to treat my hair and what to do with it. I always straightend my hair so it would be less frizzy, but it only got dryer. And when I wore my hair naturally I always brushed it, what made it more frizzy haha. I was a bit clueless, also because I never could really find anything on the internet what would work for my hair. It was always for frizzy curly hair, but my hair isn’t that curly so that never worked for me. But now I’ve finally found a hair care routine for my hair that works for me, and I want to share it with you so maybe I can help someone 🙂

First of all I try not to use heat on my hair, so it doesn’t get more dry. I only straighten it for special occasions.

IMG_4385.JPG

Okay so my routine, I only wash my hair once a week because 1. I hate washing it, it takes so much time, 2. my hair doesn’t get greasy quickly and 3. it gets dryer if I wash it more often.

Before washing my hair I always brush my hair out, that is the only time I brush my hair. Than I  wash it with the Syoss Kereatine Hair Perfection Shampoo. I also use the conditioner of the same line. The products work fine, but I prefer the John Frieda Frizz Ease shampoo and conditioner. They seem to work a bit better.

IMG_4386.JPG

When the products are all out of my hair I rinse it with cold water (I only do this in summer mostly because in winter it’s way too cold)

img_4338

I dry my hair with a cotton tshirt until it’s damp, never with a hairdryer of towel because this makes it frizzy. When it’s damp I let it dry in the air and I put some hair oil in the ends.

When my hair is really dry I use a coconut oil hairmask. You just put coconut oil in your hair, let it sit for a while and then wash it out with shampoo. The hair gets really soft and shiney.

That’s probably my routine. The most important things are (for dry and frizzy hair)

1. Do not brush it too often, it gets frizzy when you do

2. Do not use heat

3. Do not wash it too often

4. Use a cotton tshirt to dry the hair and let it dry in the air

5. Rinse the hair with cold water after washing

6. Use coconut oil!!!!

7. One extra thing what I always do with my hair, I always braid it before sleeping so it doesn’t tangle. (Also when I do this I don’t have to do my hair in the morning haha I’m lazy)

This is what my hair looks like normally by the way 🙂 (Still frizzy sadly, but less)

Well I hope I could help someone!

Thank you so much for visiting, have a nice day!

Sweater Weather

IMG_4350.JPG

It is sweater time! It is almost December now and I got the permission of my self to finally think and talk about winter. Winter and sweater just belong together. So I wanted to make a blogpost dedicated to sweaters. I just love sweaters, in winter you mostly will find me in a warm sweater, jeans and boots. I am not a fashionista at all so I always go for comfy and warm, especially in winter (in other words: SWEATERS)

My favorite sweaters are the knitted ones. They are warm and pretty. The only trouble I have with them is that I always get stuck in tables and stuff with my sweater mweh.

IMG_4367.JPG

This is definitely one of my favorites! Also one of my first knitted sweater, after this one I wanted more warm knitted sweaters. This one is by H&M, but I bought it 2 years ago.

img_4356

This one is from Primark. (Probably not available anymore, because I purchased it one year ago). This is my only sweater with color in it, well dark blue that almost looks black, but color is color right. I love the white lace detail on the bottom!

IMG_4363.JPG

My other sweater with a lace bottom! It is so cute. This one is from Forever21. (And not a dark color!!)

img_4369

img_4368

The warmest sweater I own! This one is so thick. It is light grey and the bottom is a bit different. I bought it at Primark.

img_4371

Well I said that I mostly wear and own dark clothes, but now I see I was not quite right. I also own quite a lot lighter color sweaters. This one is a turtleneck sweater, very warm on the neck! It is from Forever21.

IMG_4370.JPG

My favorite crop top sweater from Pull&Bear. I really love the fit and the color of this one! Even though it is cropped, it is still very long.

IMG_4375.JPG

A basic black jumper, always handy. This one is from Primark.

IMG_4377.JPG

This is not really a thick sweater, but still love it. Especially because it is warm enough (it does not get freezing cold most of the times in the Netherlands) but also not too warm. And it has a turtleneck! I love turtlenecks. This one is also from Primark. I shop there way too much.

IMG_4373.JPG

Last one! I just had to show my Christmas sweater. Last Christmas I got this one from my boyfriend as a present. It is so cute! Can not wait till this Christmas so I can wear more ugly Christmas sweaters.

(By the way, I realise that I have used the word sweater way too much in this post. So annoying haha sorry)

I hope you liked! Thank you so much for visting and reading, have nice day!

Go Alone

received_1049992518399259

Hi everyone,

Since I have a gap year, I have a lot of time. Of course I have my job and write for my blog, but I still have a lot of time. I realised that there are a lot of activities that you can do on your own! On the one hand it can be strange in the beginning, but on the other hand you see that you do not need another person to do fun things with and that it is fine to do things on your own. Personally I do not mind going shopping on my own, I see it as ‘me time’ and every person needs me time! That you undertake activities on your own does not mean you are lonely, you are just an independert human being. I will list my favorite alone activities down below!

Shopping

I love shopping on my own. Especially because I can stay in the stores as long as I want to and go to the stores that I want to all at ease. The only disadvantage for me is that I am very doubtful and really love having a second opinion.

Go for a walk

This is also a perfect activity to do on your own. You can just enjoy the nature around you, have deep thoughts or of course just think about nothing.

Go to the gym

When I first started going to the gym I never wanted to go on my own. I always went with a friend because I just did not like going alone. But now, I go on my own all the time. I mean you go to the gym for yourself right, not for anyone else.

Movies

Most of the time people go watch a movie together, but why could you not go on your own? I did it once (One Direction This is Us haha, no one wanted to go with me so I decided I would just go alone) and it was not weird at all. If there is a movie that you really want to see but there is no one who wants to go with you, just go alone and enjoy the movie.

Theater

This is almost the same as the movies. Why not? Shortly I am going to try this one for the first time!

Travel

This is a very good activity to get independent! It scares me a bit to go travel alone, but it is also a great experience. And remember you don’t have to go to a far destination, you can also do a day city trip in your own county or a weekend city trip.

Dinner

I have never done this, but going out dining on your own is also great. Maybe it feels weird in the beginning, because it is not ‘normal’, but I do not see the problem. Just do it if you want to!

Clubbing

Once I have read that there are people who go clubbing on their own. I would not really try this because I am just not a person for clubbing, let alone on my own haha.

Well that is everything for so far. Ofcourse there is a lot more, like reading a good book, watching series in bed and baking cookies! It may seem weird or scary for the first time, but maybe you enjoy it when you try it. You never know!

Thank you very much for reading and have a nice day!

Date night: Pizza & Glow | A day in my life

20161119_210641

This weekend my boyfriend and I went on a date. We ate dinner at Happy Italy, an Italian fast food restaurant in the Netherlands. It’s always so crowded there and we had to wait 40 minutes (!!!) in line to go in. But it was delicious.

Our pizzas: Pizza Salami and Pizza Prosciutto. And our dessert: Pizza fragola. It’s a pizza with mascerpone and strawberries. It’s delicious! They also have a pizza Nutella. Still want to try that one!

After dinner we walked Glow. Glow is an evenement where art made out of light is exposed all over the city where I live. It’s every year and every year is different. There were two routes you could walk, we chose for the science route because there were more ‘spectacular’ things.

The piece that I liked the most was the lightning that made music ( You can see it on the left below).

We had a really fun night! I really enjoyed it 🙂

Thank you so much for reading!

My Vanity | Makeup Storage

IMG_4301.JPG

Today I want to show you my vanity. I store all my makeup, perfume, hair products and nailpolish here. Just all my beauty related products. Oh and it can look messy because of all the products and colors. Still working on it.

IMG_4319 (2).JPG

This is what my vanity looks like. I bought it at Leenbakker, at that time it was the only store in the Netherlands that sold an affordable vanity. But Ikea has one too now, it looks almost the same but in my opinion it’s prettier because it has glass over the board. I’ve put a plastic plate on the board to protect it. The vanity has one big drawer, but this wasn’t big enough for all my makeup. So I purchased a cabinet to put all my beauty related products in. This one is from Ikea.

IMG_4308.JPG

On the left of my vanity, on the higher drawer, I have my brushes. One cup with face brushes and the other with eyes, eyebrows and lip brushes. And also my beautyblenders. In front of my brushes I have a mirror with enlargement.

IMG_4313.JPG

In the middle of my vanity, I have my perfumes. In my eyes it looks very pretty. Only disadvantage is that the sun shines on them and they don’t really like that…

IMG_4322.JPG

On the right side of my vanity, on the other high drawer, I have a little trashcan and my dry shampoo by batiste. It doens’t look very pretty but it is handy in use.

On my cabinet I have my everyday makeup, a jewelry holder and my glitter palette that I still have to review (ooopss).

The picture above shows my first two drawers. The rest isn’t really interesting since it’s mostly full with bobby pins and brushes. In the first drawer I store all my lipproducts. The divider is from Ikea. The second drawer is for my eyeshadows, highlighters, blushes and contour palettes. In this drawer I’ve put two baskets to divide the products.

IMG_4307.JPG

Last thing that I wanted to show are these flower lights that I’ve pinned around my mirror. It makes it more crowded but I like them 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my vanity, because I always like watching how others store there makeup. Maybe I could inspire someone 🙂

Thank you so much for reading and have a nice day!

Citytrip: Paris | Travel Tip

img-20151228-wa0170

Paris, the city of love! With who else would I visit this city than my lovely boyfriend. It was our first trip abroad together. It’s almost a year ago now. We went in December, a few days before Christmas.

There were Christmas lights and trees and Christmas markets. It was so fun! While writing this I totally get in the Christmas mood already haha, maybe a bit to early? Christmas was a great time to go to Paris, but I think fall and summer is also amazing there, it’s always a great time to go to Paris! I just want to tell one thing, we went to Paris one month after the attacks in November. Nothing to be scared off, I felt safe and it did not really affect the ambiance (maybe a little because you saw soldiers standing and walking with guns everywhere). But when you maybe see a group of soldiers on one of the pictures, that’s the reason.

Let’s talk about the highlights of Paris! There are a lot! It’s a big city and most highlight are far away from each other, so we spended a lot of time in the metro (but my french got pretty good because of that)

  • La Tour Eiffel – Probably one of the most famous things about Paris. It’s beautiful in the dark! We also went to the top, you can see so far!
  • Sacre-Coeur –  The church in the part Montmarte with all the steps. You have an amazing view from there.
  • Notre-Dame – Also a very famous church. Behind the church there is the lock bridge.
  • Louvre – The museum where the Mona Lisa is! It can be really crowded. But there is way more to see than only the Mona Lisa.
  • Arc de Triomphe – Also a famous building! It’s in the middle of a very crowded and big roundabout. I really entertained my self watching the traffic.
  • Champs-Élysées – The big and long shopping street! We’ve spended so much time here haha

There is a lot more to see, but these are the most famous/important highligts. Time for the photos!

Motivation | Inner Beauty

Hi everyone,

For a while now, I was thinking about how insecure you can get by social media and society. Not only about your appearance but also about your live. This blog is probably going to be me, trying to describe my thoughts (it’s probably going to be a mess) and trying to motivate you not to be insecure. Also, even though I really love makeup and beauty and write about it, it’s not the only thing that counts. Inner beauty and how you feel is very important, more important than how you look.

let-go-of-negativity-focus-on-the-good-quote-1

Okay so, social media has a big impact on our lives. Especially instagram (that’s what I believe). I think most people do have instagram, and it’s great, I love it. But you see so many makeup girls there, posting their best selfies with tons of makeup on, so many fitgirls posting pictures of their sixpacks, big buts and there healty food, and so many celebrities posting pictures of their lives. And someone just looks at these photos, maybe in their pj’s with no makeup on, eating a pizza and wishing their body looked like Kendall’s. I think everyone has been there, that they felt that you needed to have a big butt, big boobs but skinny, long perfect hair, flawless skin, big lips, long eyelashes, eyebrows on fleek, have a tan and eating the most beautiful dishes. But no, that’s just not reality what they show. I mean they don’t look like that everyday. And they don’t feel that awesome everyday. And also, you don’t have that all to look beautiful. Everyone is beautiful, you just need to accept yourself. You need to love yourself. If you love yourself you see that you don’t need all of that. You are beautiful in your own way. It’s more important to work on your inside, because you can put extensions in your hair and your hair looks flawless, but are you happy then on the inside?

I feel like this is just going everywhere, but what I’m trying to say is that you don’t have to look like all these fake people who have done plastic surgery on the internet. It’s important to accept and love yourself. And there is nothing wrong with working on yourself and evolving. But work on your inside, on how you feel. And working on your self can also be exercising, getting fit. But do it because you want to be healty. Do it for yourself, not for others. Because people will always have to say something negative, no matter what.

b56dug1iyaab5b1

Also body shaming, it happens a lot. Saying that someone has to lose some weight, is not okay. I think a lot of people agree with that. But saying to a smaller person that they have to eat some more, is not okay too. I personally know what it feels like and it is just not okay to say something like that. Because you can’t do anything about it. It is just not okay to have critism on someone’s body, no matter what they look like. This whole body shaming thing just has to stop, it’s negative and no one reachs something with it. How can you be happy when you just said something negative about someone else just to feel better about your self. I don’t understand it.

Besides insecurity about your appearance, I also wanted to say something about feeling that others have it better than you. But remember that people mostly only post the good, beautiful and fun times on instagram or facebook. (This is mostly for myself, because I forget often that what I see on social media is not always the truth. And also that I do it myself. I also post only the happy things on facebook and instagram, but that’s not my whole life. So it may same that that person goes to parties every week, travels every month, has the best boyfriend ever and has an amazing life, that person also has struggles. But you don’t know and you don’t see that. Everyone has them, but they don’t show it. And also everyone has an off day where they just want to lay in bed and watch netflix.)

images

I think that’s everything I wanted to say. The most important thing what I was trying to say was: You are beautiful and everything will be okay. Don’t feel bad or sad about what you see on social media. It is not the reality.

Also I want to insert the song Scars To Your Beautiful by Alessia Cara and The Climb by Miley Cyrus. I like to listing them when I’m feeling sad, especially the climb.

Thank you very much for reading. I normally don’t really post something like this, but I hope you liked it. Have a nice day! xx

Citytrip: Rome | Travel Tip

img_3305

Last year, I’ve visited Rome, Italy. It was my first time and it was amazing! I can’t really describe it with words, pictures say way more.

But I will give some information. I was there in October, after summer. And it’s a great time to go, because in summer it will be so hot and also very crowded with tourists. In October there were still a lot of tourists, they will probably always be there. But the temperature was nice, around 20 degrees (Celicius).

Also, Rome is a big city. But we walked everything. It was so much walking, we walked an hour to the Vatican or something. There are metro’s, I believe, but my dad didn’t want to go because they say there are a lot of pickpockets there and it is also very crowded. So then it’s a lot of walking, and that was okay but after three days walking all the time my legs hurt ohmy.

Well that was the only negative thing, I guess. Rome is beautiful, especially when you love culture and the Roman time. There is so much to see! Too much maybe.

Some of the highlights are (that I’ve visited) (ohgod it’s so much I don’t even remember everything )

  • Colosseum (ofcourse!)
  • Forum Romanum – this used to be the center of the old Rome in the Roman time. It’s next to the Colosseum.
  • Vatican City – It’s possible to visit the St. Peter’s Basilica (for free). But the lines can be huuuuugeee. When we were there we also went into the dome, it gives a beautiful view over Vatican City and the St. Peter’s square.
  • Trevi Fountain – Well, I don’t know what it looks like when there is water in it because it was under reconstruction. (Because supporters of a Dutch soccer club ruined it, thaaanks)
  • Spanish Steps – Same goes for the Spanish Steps, also under reconstruction.
  • Pantheon – This is a basilica with a hole in the middle of the roof. Interesting.
  • Piazza Navona – This place was amazing! So fun and so beautiful!

Of course there is way more to see, a lot of churches, squares, streets and buildings. But it is way to much to numerate. Hope the pictures will show! (Excuse my not so good photograph skills)

Autumn

20161010_085307

Even though it feels like winter already, it’s still autumn! (for a month or so but who cares haha) Autumn may be one of my favorite season, the leaves that change in beautiful colors, the smell of cinnamon, hot chocolate, fall colors like dark red, apple pie, sweaters and boots. And when it is autumn, Christmas is closer!

My favorite items for fall are defenitly boots (long or short, just love boots), big soft scarf, warm cozy sweater, a parka (the basic white girl green one), fall colored dark lipstick and a floppy hat. Basicially something like this: (just let me be a basic white girl, only missing the starbucks PSL in my hand)

20161024_162019

Outfit: hat – Forever 21, parka – Only, scarf – Primark, jeans – H&M, boots – Bristol

Enough self-mockery, I also made some fall pictures in october if I felt like it. So much beautiful colors!
