Where to eat: Budapest | Best(ies) Lunch

Recently I visited the lovely city Budapest, Hungary with my best friend. A while ago, I posted this post, where I came with the idea to try out new restaurants and write about it. Of course, we did that in Budapest too!

4bro downtown

The first restaurant where we ate is called 4bro downtown, after looking it up on the internet I discovered it is actually a night club too. Our hostel was across of a little street where this place was. Actually, the whole street was full of cute places like this!

We both ordered the club sandwich, we just came out of the plane and were really hungry. It was really good, the sandwich was quite big and filled with vegetables, egg, and chicken. Very tasty! The sandwich came with these tasty potato fries, whom also was really good.  The price for the sandwich was alright, but the rest of the food was quite expensive for Budapest I think.

The ambiance at 4bro downtown was also great, the only disadvantage was that the music was really loud. We just couldn’t hear each other talking, what was quite annoying. But we had a great lunch!

0.75 bar & bistro

In the evening we had dinner at this place called 0.75 bar & bistro, where they mostly served tapas and wine. The restaurant was on the square where the beautiful St Stefanus Basilica was.

We both didn’t order tapas, I went for the goulash soup and Gaby ordered a salad. My goulash was really nice, I loved it! Also, I had this really tasty drink, elderflower lemonade, it was so good! Afterwards, we had some cocktails, Gaby had a mojito and I had a watermelon cocktail. I really enjoyed this dinner.

The restaurant was nice, they had good food and drinks. Also the staff was alright, something went wrong with our order but eventually they fixed it!

Trattoria Gozsdu

Our last dinner we ate at an Italian restaurant, in the same cute street as the 4bro downtown.

The restaurant was really nice, and they had this beautiful quote on the wall saying: “If life hands you lemons, make limoncello”. That’s the spirit!

Gaby ordered this lovely pasta, and I went for the pizza. And it was so good! They also had a wide choice of wines, I ordered a Hugo and got a really nice looking glass with lemon and mint leaves.

I really liked this restaurant. The food, staff, and ambiance were amazing!

Actually, I like all the places where we ate! The only disadvantage of eating in Budapest, what I also experienced when I was visiting Prague last year, is that they include the service cost in the bill. They add 20% of the bill to it. Mostly it isn’t a lot, but I find it quite annoying that they push me to pay a service cost and that I can’t choose for myself if I want to give them a tip or not. But that’s all :). It was funny though, Gaby and I calculated the bill of the last restaurant and came to the conclusion that we had the exact amount of Hungarian money left to pay it in cash, and then there was the extra service cost. Oh well.

We had a great time and some love dinners. If you’re in doubt to visit Budapest, it is totally worth it!

Have a lovely day! xx

Where to eat: Streetfood Eindhoven |Best(ies) Lunch

Hi guys!

Recently I came up with this new idea. My bestfriend Gaby (follow her 🙂 ) and I try to have a date every week, and most of the times we go for lunch. As we want to try something new every time, we decided to write about it and share it with you guys! (Also, mostly all the spots are in the Netherlands. But when we go abroad we’ll definitely share that too!)

This week we ate at Streetfood Eindhoven in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The place is really small, but in summer and spring when the weather is good, they have a nice terrace. Streetfood Eindhoven is in the center of the city, where all the shopping stores are at the Catherinaplein.

The ambiance is great and the staff was really nice. I really liked it there and it also looked really nice.

On the menu, they have loads of drinks, special sandwiches and their main product: the streetbox.  You can put together the streetbox just as you want. Choose the shape of your fries, salt, sauce and snack. They also sell milkshakes and ‘special’ milkshakes as a Unicorn Milkshake.

Gaby ordered a home made ice green tea with a sandwich with carpaccio (her favorite sandwich, she is probably going to order it everywhere and see where you can get the best). I ordered a unicorn milkshake and a street box with curly fries, seasoned salt, ketchup and a kroket.

The food was really good and I liked how they served it. So cute! And the milkshake was so tasty and it looked adorable. It was really big and together with the delicious street box a bit heavy, but I loved it. Gaby her food was also great.

I really recommend going here if you ever get the chance. It’s an amazing place and they serve such delicious and original food, in a special way. I loved it! It is definitely one of my favorite places.

We will try to do this more often, every week if possible. I really enjoyed it and loved sharing my opinion about it with you! Have a lovely day! xxx
