  9. Ask your nominees any five questions of your choice, including one weird or funny question.

  1. I have Indonesian roots. In fact I am an Indo, what means that I am Dutch and Indonesian. (Something with Indonesia being a colony of the Netherlands back in time, I believe it’s a black page in the Dutch History. A lot of Dutch people have Indonesian roots because of this, and are called Indos) I was born in the Netherlands, but my grandparents are from Java, Indonesia. Sadly, I can’t speak Bahasa Indonesia and I really would love to learn more about the Indonesian culture, as that’s a part of me. I feel more Dutch than Indonesian, but not 100% (well that’s logicial as I am not 100% of both descents)
  2. I love keeping memories of everything. I can’t let go of pictures. I also have those times when I keep a journal, especially when I’m travelling and I save everything! And then I mean EVERYTHING, receipts, maps, tickets, leaflets.
  3. I haven’t eating Mc Donalds in 2 years now. Since I saw these documentaires about how bad the food is, I quit eating it. I loved the chicken nuggets, but they had a weird taste sometimes. I just don’t believe it is real chicken haha, so for my own health I try not to eat Mc Donalds. ( I have to admit, I have failed 2 times, when I was really hungry and bought those 1 euro burgers, but ugh I expected it to taste better but nah, so not going to eat it anymore. Expect for the mcflurrys though, these are delicious haha!)

1.If you were dropped on a new planet and you have seeds to grow one type of crop. Which vegetable would you hope it to be?

Probably courget. It’s my favorite vegetable and I add it to every pasta I make. When I was younger I didn’t like it, but when I was once eating at this Chinese wok restaurant I accidentally ate a piece of raw courget. (what is fine! It tastes very good, and it’s crunchy). Well I thought it was a piece of cucumber, but it wasn’t. Since then, I’ve been eating and loving it!

2.If you could create your own world to live in, how would it look like? (It can be as crazy as you’d want it to be)

People would be kinder, there would be peace, no one would make war or fights. The days would always be beautiful. There would be no global warming. The nature would be beautiful and wild, as it should. We wouldn’t destroy the earth.

3.If there is one thing you’d want to change about yourself, what would it be?

I would have no dark circles anymore under my eyes. Sadly they are genetic, and there is nothing I can do except for eating healty, try to get enough sleep and use concealer. I’m not as insecure about them as I used to be, but I still don’t like them.

4.What talent would you like to possess?

I would love to understand and speak the most important languages in the world, so that when I’m travelling they’d understand me and I understand the locals. Oh and not looking like an idiot while dancing would be great (the same goes for singing, I’m horrible)

5.What are your expectations for 2017?

To make beautiful memories and go see the world. Surprise me 2017.

(ps I am so sorry if you’ve already done this, or if you are tagged already!)

  1. What is your favorite destination that you’ve ever visited?
  2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be and what would your house/place look like?
  3. What would be your ultimate candy three-course dinner?
  4. Who is your celebrity crush?
  5. What would you do for a living, if you could be anything you wanted to be?

When I was in London, I stopped by the Boots at Oxford Street where they sell NYX. I shopped some new lipcolors and also this brow pomade. For a while I was searching for a affordable brow pomade, cause I really wanted to try it but the Anastasia Beverly Hills one is kinda expensive.

First off, all those people that worked there, their makeup looked amazing! This kind man that helped me had done his makeup soo goood. Those skills omg I’m jealous. Well I couldn’t decide wich color I needed so he helped me. He applied the right color on my brows and wow they ended up so beautiful. My brows never looked so good.

I bought the brow pomade in the color espresso. That one looked the most natural.

IMG_4901 (2).JPG

This is what my eyebrows look like naturally. They are pretty full and bold, but I always like to give them some extra color. They also have some gaps, so I like to fill them in.

IMG_4908 (2).JPG

This is what they look like filled in. The look fuller and sharper. It also looks more ‘clean’ in my opinion.

(btw realise I didn’t photgraph the same brows….)

I’m really content with my new brow pomenade. I didn’t need much product for a brow, only one dip. And I like how they look, after applying the product. Sadly they don’t look as good as that time in London, I wish that man could do them everyday. (Seriously they looked amazing!)

You can buy it online here for around €7, but I suggest buying it in a store so you can test the colors and be sure wich one you need. 🙂

Thank you for reading, have a lovely day!

Hey guys,

A while ago I was nominated by Everlasting Nikita for this award. Thank you very much! Her blog is greate so please check it out!

I started this blog September 2016. I didn’t go to school because I had a gap year. I was bored. When I was younger I always wanted to write about makeup, or make videos about makeup, because I enjoyed reading beautyblogs so much. I decided to finally start my own blog, since I had a lot of free time. It started out being a lifestyle blog where I wrote about my vacation in Italy and about the books I’ve read. My idea was to make my blog a lifestyle blog, to let go of my frustratings of not being in school. Eventually I started writing about makeup. Now my blog is still a ‘lifestyle’ blog, I still write about my life, trips I make but I also post outfits and write about makeup.

  1. KEEP GOING – In the beginning I had zero readers or subsribers. I was just writing for myself, but there will come people who read and love your blog. Be patient and keep on writing!
  2. DON’T BE AFRAID – I was so scared of telling people about my blog, I was scared of what they would think. But everyone that I’ve told about my blog were so excited, they all liked what I do. And of course there will be people who thinks it’s weird. But don’t let them stop you.

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog

2. Write a post to show your award

3. Give a brief story of how your blog started

4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers

5. Select 15 other bloggers for this award

6. Comment on each blog to let them know you nominated them and link to the post you created.

LONDON OOTD: denim dress

Another London outfit! yay. It was freezing, but do it for the blog haha. This was at Covent Garden in London. A super cute market, it was so beautiful.

Okay so, I was wearing this super cute denim dress that I found at H&M in the sale. I love it so much! It’s so comfy and different and still warm. Also love how it is a dress, what makes you feel cute and girly, but not overdressed or something. It’s perfect for a casual but girly outfit. And it has pockets!!!!

You can wear what ever shirt/sweater you want to. This time in London I combined it with my grey/black turtleneck shirt from Primark. Originally I planned to wear this with my new green sweater from H&M (what I mentioned in this post), but I liked this shirt more. Back home I already took some pictures with the green sweater, I added these in the end because I still like that combination too. Only, the green sweater is a bit more loose and a tighter shirt under need the dress looks better in my opinion.

For shoes I wore my black over the knee boots again. They are just so warm and comfy. And of course some black warm tights. Other wise my legs would freeze off.

Tell me which combination you liked the most! One or two?

Hope you liked it! Have a nice day 🙂

Citytrip: London | Travel Diary

Hi guys,

A few days ago I came back from by citytrip to London. I’ve been there for 5 days, well 6 if you count the night we had to spend at the airport because we missed our flight. Never thought I would be the kind of person to miss a flight, but apparently I am lol. Despite of that, the trip was a lot of fun. My best friend and I visited our other best friend that lives there. If you would love to read about my days there, keep on reading!

For the London aftermovie, click here!!! London OOTD’s click here and here!

Our day started very early. The plane left at 8 a.m. and we were at Stansted Airport at 8 a.m. Benefit of the one hour difference. We took the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street Station, where Dani was waiting for us. Yay we were finally reunited again :). We dropped our luggage at here place. She had to go the the university, so Gaby and I went to see Oxford Street. How long can a shopping street be? ohmygod, but okay. Really loved the Disney store, it was so cute! We also found the Victoria Secret and all the other luxiours brands stores. A girl can dream…. We were just walking and out of the no where I saw the Ritz Hotel. I got a bit too excited, but that’s the Nothing Hill Hotel!! Honestly I don’t know how we walked, but suddenly we were at Buckingham Palace. There we meeted Dani again and she showed us the Westminster, the London eye, Trafalgar square and the Nandos. Can we please have a Nandos in the Netherlands. It was so delicious (and spicy, so spicy I was crying haha always get that with spicy chicken).

First we visited the Borough Market, it was very cute. After that we walked all the way to the Tower Bridge, whilst following the Thames Path. Then we took the train to the St. Pauls Cathedral and afterwards we went to the station where the Harry Potter platform is. Of course you had to pay to take a picture with it. We decided to go to Camden Town. I loved it, it was so different. The market was what I loved most, there was so much food to choose from, I couldn’t make a choice. In the end I went for falafel. It was so delicous! But then this happend:

Stupid bird attacked me and my falafel 😦 they better enjoyed it.

After Camden Town we went to the National gallery, we met with Dani again and ate at T.G.I. Fridays, listened to some live music at Leicester Square and went to the M&M’s store.

Today we went to Greenwich, to visit Dani’s University. It was so pretty there! We also went to Greenwich Park where we had this amazing view over London. Up on the hill was the Greenwich Timeline, very cool. After visiting her school we went back to the city to go to Harrods. Ohmygod, it was huge! I felt quite poor walking there. We also went to Hamleys, the big toystore. It was a lot of fun haha. And those Cinnabons we had were sooooo good. I want them again.

In the evening we walked through Chinatown and ate at Pizza Hut. Gaby and Dani went in the night to Ministry of Sound, but that was nothing for me so I stayed in the hostel and watched Gossip Girl hehe.

While they were still sleeping, I went to the Britisch Museum on my own. I really liked it, just being on my own. After the museum I went to Oxfort Street, searching for the Boots that selled NYX. I was in makeup heaven. They had so much, it was amazing! My hand ended up with lipstick everywhere and my eyebrows ended up being on fleek. (This is so 2016, but how else can I describe eyebrows that looked amazing?) Also found myself in the womens march out of nowhere, what was very crowded. So went for a walk in Hyde Park and James Park. Later on I met Dani and Gaby at Covent Garden, where we looked around. In the evening we went to Leicester Square again where we watched some busking. It was a lot of fun, all these people are so talented! Oh and had dinner at Nandos again #loveeeeeee

Our last day in London! We would fly back home in the evening, so we still had a whole day. We did some more sightseeing: Shakespears Globe, the Tate Modern and the Royal Albert Hall. The late afternoon we’ve spend at Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square again. I loved the Cinnabons and perfomences too much. It was so much fun to watch!

At 4 o’clock we left London to go back to the station to catch the train. We were on time, even early. But no, the trains didn’t work and we had to wait over one hour to get in the bus. So we were very late. I already gave up, but Gaby still had hope we would be on time. I never ran so hard in my life, seriously that was enough exercise for my whole life. When we were running to our gate, it was the final call for our plane. There was hope. But when we got there, they didn’t let us in. While the plane was still standing there, there were even still people walking on the stairs! But no, we had to spend the entire night at the airport, and also so much money for a new ticket. Thanks Ryanair, hope you are happy now. We weren’t the only ones though. The ticket line for Ryanair was huge, so many people missed their flight.

So instead of being home sunday evening, we had to spend the entire night at the airport. But I’m home now! Tired and poor and a lot of new memories richer.

I had a great time, I would love to go again! Also did some little makeup shopping there, but will post that another time. 🙂

Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!

CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Matte

Today I want to share with you this beautiful pink/red lipstick from CHANEL. It’s my first and only high end product. And it’s so beautiful, so luxuriance and so special.

The design is amazing! You can click the gold part into the black case. At first I was searching like huh how does this go open, but when you get it it is so much fun how it clicks in and out.

The color is a beautitful red/pink shade. The lipstick also feels very soft on the lips, with applying it goes so smooth and soft. It also doens’t dry your lips out at all, whilst it is a matte lipstick! Probably the reason why it’s called Rouge Allure Velvet Matte. (edit: saw that I totally forgot to mention what the colorshade was: 347 LA MERVEILLEUSE)

This was the look I was wearing with the beautiful lipstick. Flawless skin, beautiful glow, big lashes and bold lips. I love it, it’s so ‘natural , yet very classy and timeless. And that all because of a beautiful lipstick. Thanks Chanel, it’s amazing.

Thank you all so much for visiting, have a lovely day!

LONDON OOTD: team internet

Hi guys,

First off: here is my denim jacket again…..

Okay so this is the outfit that I wore my first day in London! I choose for a comfortable and warm sweater, my denim jacket, a black highwaisted jeans and my black over the knee boots so my ankles wouldn’t get cold. And a black cap to make me extra tourist looking.

My day started very early, I had to be at the airport at 7 in the morning. My grey sweater from H&M was perfect for that, warm and comfortable. The little text saying ‘team internet’ makes it a bit more interesting. I also wanted to bring my denim jacket (of course), but my suitcase was already way too full so I decided to wear it. Extra warm. Black jeans (H&M) match with everything, just as the black boots. My black shiney cap is from H&M too. The little bag is from Primark, it’s perfect for citytrip everything that I need fits in it!

The photos were taken at Buckingham Palace, a beautiful building. We’ve seen already so much in one day. Oxford Street, Westminster Abbey, London Eye and Buckingham Palace. But I will write about that later on in a special London blogpost 🙂

Thank you for visiting, have a nice day!

Ultimate Travelist

When you read this I’m probably on my way to London, or already there. I’m so excited, I always wanted to visit London and now I’m finally going to! To stay in the travel mood, I would like to share this book with you. I got this as a present from my uncle with Sinterklaas.

It’s written by Lonely Planet, they ranked the best 500 places in the world. Of course this is personal for everyone, but it’s fun to read. They added a description for every place and for the most also a photo. As you can see in the photo is Angkor Wat in Cambodia number one. I’m hoping to visit it this year!

I love how the book gives me ideas of futur destinations to travel to. The other thing that I really like is spotting places in the book that I’ve visit. That’s so fun to see. Among other things: 07 Colosseum, 16 Sagrada Familia, 25 Pyramids of Giza, 26 Piazza San Marco, 34 Charles Bridge, 37 Louvre, 40 Eiffel Tower, 44 Old Town Square Prague. Even places in the Netherlands as Anne Frank House and Prinsengracht Canal (As the Anne Frank House is in the Prinsengracht)

You also get this map with the top 100. You can hang it on the wall and pin the places you’ve visited. I would totally do this, but I already have another worldmap hanging where I pin my places.

I’m really happy with my book, I look in it like everyday. All those beautiful places, I can’t wait to visit them all. But first… London!

I’ve written some posts and planned them, hope I have internet so it works!

Thank you for visiting, have a lovely day!!

MOTD: Going Green/Grey

Remember those days when people matched their clothes with their makeup. I was too young and didn’t wear makeup at that time, but I always tried to do this with nailpolish. Pink shirt? Pink nails it is!

I purchased this beautiful dark green sweater at H&M in sale and I was so sure of having the same color in eyeshadow. I already imagined it in my head, me wearing that sweater with dark green smokey eyes. As they say, dreams are dreams, not reality. Yes, because in reality it wasn’t what I imagined.

This is the color we’re talking about. Too Faced even called it ‘Earl GREY’ so why I thougt it was dark green is a big question. In the pan it really looked like a very dark green in my eyes, but on my eyes it is so grey. Disapointment.

I still tried to make something out of it, result: sort of grey smokey eye something. It doens’t show that good on camera, but I wanted to smoke it out a bit on the outside and a lighter color on the inner corner. I used the colors Earl Grey, Mocha and Satin Sheets from the Too Faced Bon Bons Chocolate Palette. A big wing and some mascara to finish the look.

For the face I used the Catrice Even Skin Tone Beautifying Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me concealer, Maybelline Matte Maker Mattyfing Powder, Makeup Revolution Contour Palette to contour and highlight, Freedom Peach Blush Palette.

For my brows I used the Kiko Eyebrow Sculpt Pencil and the Catrice Eyebrow Gel.

On my lips I’m wearing Velvet Teddy by MAC. One of my favorite nude colors!

I combined the pretty dark green sweater with this cute demin overall dress, but there will be a post about that later on!

Thank you for visiting. Have a lovely day!

First of all, when I woke up a few days ago I got this mention from WordPress that I reached 100 followers on my blog. I am so proud! I want to thank everyone who visits and reads my blog, who write all these lovely comments and ofcourse all the people that decided to follow my blog. Thank you so much! When I started this blog in September 2016, it was mainly to improve my English and to do something in my gap year. My love for makeup and beauty made me also write about that. I’ve never thought I would even get one follower or reader, but now a few months later my blog has grown so much. It’s amazing!

Well the other thing in the title is “Gap Year Update”. In the very beginning of my blog I wrote this post about a gap year and my experience so far. At that time I had no idea what to do with my life, I did not know what I wanted to follow in college, if I could work more, what I would do in my spare time and most important thing was that I did not want to waiste my year.

Now, three months later, I am almost half way through my gap year. I’ve been blogging every two days, I’ve worked a lot, I went to the gym a lot and I finally planned my travel adventure. In March I am going to South Asia. I’m going to visit Thailand and Vietnam for sure, but I also like to go to Cambodia. I’m so happy and excited. Also a bit nervous, even though I’m travelling in a group. But I am also looking forward to it! When it gets closer I will write some more about my plans.

In my previous gap year post I also made sort of a list of things I want to learn and to this year:

This year I want to use for getting experience (with work and volunteer work abroad), learning something new ( I want to learn a language of maybe to be a MUA), getting stronger ( physically and mentally), getting independent (maybe by backpacking or travelling), be more confident, doing everything I have to do to attend the study I want to, but most important of all: getting and being the best version of myself I can be at that moment. And that’s a lot, I know, but I’m working on it to achieve all of it.

Let’s see what I’ve achieved so far!

  1. Getting experience with work an volunteer work abroad – I didn’t do volunteer work abroad, and I’m also not planning on doing it. But I got experience with work. I worked a lot more and also I’ve done some temporarily work.
  2. Learning something new (for example a language or MUA) – Didn’t do any of them. I’m going to do a makeup workshop in a few weeks though and I got this Spanish cours for Christmas, so this is still in progress. However I feel like my English has improved, that was also one of the main reasons to start a blog.
  3. Getting independent – Haven’t travelled on my own yet, but I undertook some other things on my own so I’m working on it.
  4. Be more confident – I’m definetly more confident than I was, especially because of my blog, I mean everyone can read what I think and see my photos. First I was scared of it, but now I am proud of my blog!
  5. Getting into college – This is also still in progress. I found the course I want to follow (Optometry) and I also applied. Now I’m waiting for the result if I can attent the selection to get in.
  6. Getting and being the best version of myself – Well Daisy that is very vague. Can’t say if I am a better person now than I was a few months ago. Let’s hope so.
It’s fun and nice to see what I’ve done so far. I understand if someone is like, uh I don’t care about this. That’s okay, I wrote this mostly for myself, but I love to share it with you all.

Thank you for reading and visiting my blog! Have a lovely day xx
