Where to eat: Streetfood Eindhoven |Best(ies) Lunch

Hi guys!

Recently I came up with this new idea. My bestfriend Gaby (follow her 🙂 ) and I try to have a date every week, and most of the times we go for lunch. As we want to try something new every time, we decided to write about it and share it with you guys! (Also, mostly all the spots are in the Netherlands. But when we go abroad we’ll definitely share that too!)

This week we ate at Streetfood Eindhoven in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The place is really small, but in summer and spring when the weather is good, they have a nice terrace. Streetfood Eindhoven is in the center of the city, where all the shopping stores are at the Catherinaplein.

The ambiance is great and the staff was really nice. I really liked it there and it also looked really nice.

On the menu, they have loads of drinks, special sandwiches and their main product: the streetbox.  You can put together the streetbox just as you want. Choose the shape of your fries, salt, sauce and snack. They also sell milkshakes and ‘special’ milkshakes as a Unicorn Milkshake.

Gaby ordered a home made ice green tea with a sandwich with carpaccio (her favorite sandwich, she is probably going to order it everywhere and see where you can get the best). I ordered a unicorn milkshake and a street box with curly fries, seasoned salt, ketchup and a kroket.

The food was really good and I liked how they served it. So cute! And the milkshake was so tasty and it looked adorable. It was really big and together with the delicious street box a bit heavy, but I loved it. Gaby her food was also great.

I really recommend going here if you ever get the chance. It’s an amazing place and they serve such delicious and original food, in a special way. I loved it! It is definitely one of my favorite places.

Cakes & Shakes | A day in my life

Well a better title to describe yesterday may be: cakes, tea, burgers, fries and shakes but that is a bit long haha. Yesterday I went shopping in Maastricht, this time with my parents and sister. We visited the Christmas Market, sadly Santa wasn’t there anymore. But I found a Nutcracker ornament for in the tree! I already posted something about the Christmas Market in Maastricht, read that here. 🙂

We found two very cute places where we ate. The first one was a cute little place where they had the most amazing cupcakes and cakes. It was called Taart. The place was so cute, it looked old, like you were visiting your grandparents. I finally had my little tea party (without a tea gown, but that’s okay). They also served the tea and cakes on this beautiful vintage looking crockery. The cakes also looked and tasted amazing! For sure a go to when you are in Maastricht 🙂

In the evening we dined at Patty ‘n Bun, a place where you can eat amazing burgers, fries and shakes. I also posted this picture on instagram:

The food was sooooo good! It tasted amazing, and it also looked amazing. I had these guacamole fries, so jummy! As a dessert my dad and I shared this Freak Shake, with a donut on top. Also delicious. This place is also definitely a go to!

You can conclude that almost my whole day was eating, well it kinda was haha. But I also shopped a bit and did some sight seeing, but it was so crowded because there was sale everywhere. However, I had a really fun day with my family 🙂

All I want for Christmas is… FOOD!

Tonight it’s finally Christmas Eve! I’m so excited. This whole week I was in a Christmas mood and in a baking Christmassy food mood. And now that Christmas is only one day away, I thought it was time to share it!

On Monday I decided to bake some Christmas tree cookies. I didn’t have tree mold, so I printed a drawing of a Christmas tree and placed that on the dough. Worked very good for me! My sister helped me decorate them. I think they turned out very cute, and most important: very delicious!

Wednesday I cooked a pre-Christmas dinner for my parents, my sister and me. We decided to celebrate Christmas already with the four of us, as we don’t have time on Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Second Christmas day because of working a lot and going to both family sides.. (I don’t know why, but we have a Second Christmas day in the Netherlands. We also have a Second Easter day….)

For the amuse I made a cheese crul filled with ricotta and herbs. For the entree I made carpaccio made out of tomato, but it was more a caprese salad. For the main course I made chicken filled with pesto and mozerella with pomme duchesse made out of sweet potato, French beans and a piece of dragon fruit.

For desert I made tiramisu. So yummy! The egg-white was left so I made merengue out of it.

I really enjoyed the dinner, we had a lot of fun. It was a good start of Christmas 🙂

This year I decided that I really wanted to make a gingerbread house. I found this DIY package at the Flying Tiger, it’s a Danisch store. I really like how it turned out, but ohmygod it was so horrible to put it together! My glace didn’t want to dry and when I finally thought I got the pieces together, everthing fell and one piece broke 😦 . Maybe I used the wrong product to stick them together, I don’t know, but I was glad when I finally got it. It’s a sin to eat it!

Well that was all the Chrismas food I made this week, I’m really looking forward to the Chrismas dinners that are waiting for me haha 🙂

My favorite sandwiches & how to make them

In the Netherlands it is a habit to eat bread with something like peanut butter or cheese on it as lunch. But I am more a fan of sandwiches. I’ve got a few that I really like and often make, so I’m going to share them with you!

Sandwich Brie & Arugula

What you need (for 1 sandwich)

  • 2 pieces of bread (white or brown, what you prefer)
  • Brie
  • Arugula
  • Honey
  • Sandwich toaster / pan to bake it in

It’s very simple. You put some arugula on the bread, on top of that as much brie as you like and on top of that you put some honey to sweeten it a bit. Than you put the other piece of bread on top of that all and you put it in the sandwich toaster. When the bread is crunchy the sandwich is ready!

Sandwich Tomato & Mozerella 

What you need (for 1 sandwich)

  • Bread with Italian specie
  • Tomato
  • Mozerella
  • Pesto
  • Slice of chicken
  • Toaster of an oven

On the bread you put some Pesto, a slice of chicken and a tomato with Mozerella on top. Then you put the the sandwich in the toaster and there you have a Mozerella and tomato sandwich!

Sandwich Salmon & Cream cheese

What you need (for 1 sandwich)

  • Bread
  • Salmon
  • Lettuce
  • Cream cheese
  • Mustard-dill sauce

On the bread you smear some cream cheese, on top of that some lettuce, salmon and sauce. Very simple but delicious sandwich!

Old school sandwich Grilled Cheese

What you need (for 1 sandwich)

  • 2 pieces of bread
  • Cheese (emmentaler or gouda)
  • Ham
  • Sandwich toaster / pan to bake it in
  • (Optional) Tomato ketchup

You lay the cheese on the bread and on top of the cheese you put a slice of ham. The cheese that is falling out of the bread, you can wrap around the ham. Then you put the other slice of bread on top of everything and put it in the sandwich toaster. When the bread is crunchy and the cheese is melted, your sandwich is ready! Enjoy!

Sandwich Goat Cheese

I have some different ways of making this sandwich. The first one is the simple Goat Cheese sandwich: bread, lettuce, goat cheese and honey. The second one is more comprehensive (Google translate says it’s the word that I was searching for so okay), I will describe that one below.

What you need (for 1 sandwich)

  • Bread/sandwich, I like a dark one with some seeds.
  • Lettuce (any kind)
  • Bacon
  • Goat Cheese
  • Honey
  • Some nuts or seeds

Okay so on the picture above, you see the simple version. But it’s is almost the same, the only difference is that you have to put more things on the second sandwich. Oh and I like to warm up my bacon en goat cheese in the oven before I put it on my bread.


Here is the better version of my goat cheese sandwich! Very delicious with a latte machiatto.
