Where to eat: Budapest | Best(ies) Lunch

20170611_200842

Recently I visited the lovely city Budapest, Hungary with my best friend. A while ago, I posted this post, where I came with the idea to try out new restaurants and write about it. Of course, we did that in Budapest too!

4bro downtown

The first restaurant where we ate is called 4bro downtown, after looking it up on the internet I discovered it is actually a night club too. Our hostel was across of a little street where this place was. Actually, the whole street was full of cute places like this!

We both ordered the club sandwich, we just came out of the plane and were really hungry. It was really good, the sandwich was quite big and filled with vegetables, egg, and chicken. Very tasty! The sandwich came with these tasty potato fries, whom also was really good.  The price for the sandwich was alright, but the rest of the food was quite expensive for Budapest I think.

The ambiance at 4bro downtown was also great, the only disadvantage was that the music was really loud. We just couldn’t hear each other talking, what was quite annoying. But we had a great lunch!

0.75 bar & bistro

In the evening we had dinner at this place called 0.75 bar & bistro, where they mostly served tapas and wine. The restaurant was on the square where the beautiful St Stefanus Basilica was.

We both didn’t order tapas, I went for the goulash soup and Gaby ordered a salad. My goulash was really nice, I loved it! Also, I had this really tasty drink, elderflower lemonade, it was so good! Afterwards, we had some cocktails, Gaby had a mojito and I had a watermelon cocktail. I really enjoyed this dinner.

The restaurant was nice, they had good food and drinks. Also the staff was alright, something went wrong with our order but eventually they fixed it!

Trattoria Gozsdu

Our last dinner we ate at an Italian restaurant, in the same cute street as the 4bro downtown.

The restaurant was really nice, and they had this beautiful quote on the wall saying: “If life hands you lemons, make limoncello”. That’s the spirit!

Gaby ordered this lovely pasta, and I went for the pizza. And it was so good! They also had a wide choice of wines, I ordered a Hugo and got a really nice looking glass with lemon and mint leaves.

I really liked this restaurant. The food, staff, and ambiance were amazing!

Actually, I like all the places where we ate! The only disadvantage of eating in Budapest, what I also experienced when I was visiting Prague last year, is that they include the service cost in the bill. They add 20% of the bill to it. Mostly it isn’t a lot, but I find it quite annoying that they push me to pay a service cost and that I can’t choose for myself if I want to give them a tip or not. But that’s all :). It was funny though, Gaby and I calculated the bill of the last restaurant and came to the conclusion that we had the exact amount of Hungarian money left to pay it in cash, and then there was the extra service cost. Oh well.

We had a great time and some love dinners. If you’re in doubt to visit Budapest, it is totally worth it!

Have a lovely day! xx

Foodstock Festival 2017| FOOD

Near the end of May (I know it’s really long ago), there was this foodtruck festival in my city, named Foodstock Festival. My friends and I went there, had lots of tasty food and chill in the sun. It was a really sunny day, and we had a great time! I filmed some and made a little “vlog” out of it to show the ambiance.

And a few photo’s of the food of course! You had to pay everything with special coins, those were quite expensive for what you get eventually. But oh well. I know of myself that I’m easily hungry again, so I had already a bit at home haha. I ended up eating mostly sweet desserts and coconut water. The ones in Asia are way better, but at least it was a coconut. I don’t know actually what was going on in my mind, but I decided to buy a glitter unicorn tattoo (that doesn’t even look like a unicorn) with my last coin…

It was a fun day. I had a great time with my friends and lots of delicious food to choose from. I would recommend everyone going to a food festival if there is one near you! Especially if you love food as much as me, it’s a dream come true!

Have a nice day everyone, thank you for visiting! xxx

Cakes & Shakes | A day in my life

20161229_184418.jpg

Well a better title to describe yesterday may be: cakes, tea, burgers, fries and shakes but that is a bit long haha. Yesterday I went shopping in Maastricht, this time with my parents and sister. We visited the Christmas Market, sadly Santa wasn’t there anymore. But I found a Nutcracker ornament for in the tree! I already posted something about the Christmas Market in Maastricht, read that here. 🙂

We found two very cute places where we ate. The first one was a cute little place where they had the most amazing cupcakes and cakes. It was called Taart. The place was so cute, it looked old, like you were visiting your grandparents. I finally had my little tea party (without a tea gown, but that’s okay). They also served the tea and cakes on this beautiful vintage looking crockery. The cakes also looked and tasted amazing! For sure a go to when you are in Maastricht 🙂

In the evening we dined at Patty ‘n Bun, a place where you can eat amazing burgers, fries and shakes. I also posted this picture on instagram:

The food was sooooo good! It tasted amazing, and it also looked amazing. I had these guacamole fries, so jummy! As a dessert my dad and I shared this Freak Shake, with a donut on top. Also delicious. This place is also definitely a go to!

You can conclude that almost my whole day was eating, well it kinda was haha. But I also shopped a bit and did some sight seeing, but it was so crowded because there was sale everywhere. However, I had a really fun day with my family 🙂

Thank you for visiting, have a nice day! (wow one of the last days of 2016, that’s crazy)
