Purple Smokey Eyes | MOTD

IMG_5738 (2).JPG

It’s been such a long time since I posted an MOTD! I haven’t been wearing makeup that much anymore, but a few days ago I really got the urge to play around with eyeshadows. The look ended up to be a purple smokey eye, all colors from the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette. I love that palette way too much, it’s the one that I use most for MOTD’s on the blog! I will tell you have I’ve achieved this purple look.

FACE: Catrice Even Skintone Beautifying Foundation, Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer, Primark Cream Master Contour Palette, Maybelline Matte Me Powder, Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette (contour and highlighter) and Freedom Blush Palette

EYEBROWS: NYX Tame&Frame Brow Pomade

EYES: Almost all the colors are from the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette, only the transition shade is the color Sweet Shop from the I Heart Makeup Naked Chocolate Palette.

  • Crease – Dark Truffle (Too Faced)
  • Eyelid – Black Currant (Too Faced)
  • Inner Corner and Brow Bone – Satin Sheets (Too Faced)

NYC High Definition Liquid Eyeliner Pen, Essence Eyeliner Pen, and NYC Big Bold Mascara.

LIPS: Combination NYX Lingerie in Embelishment and NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in Istanbul. (just as in this MOTD)

And that’s the finished look! Not really a summer MOTD, but the purple makes the smokey eye less dark. Perfect for a fancy dinner or party!

Hope you liked it! It made me really happy to play with all my makeup again so there will be coming more makeup related posts again. I like OOTD’s, travel diaries and food, but makeup will always be the main subject on my blog. I just love it too much!

Lots of love xxxx

For makeup I went festive this time, a soft smokey eye. The most important products for this look where my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and some mascara and eyeliner. Falsh lashes would look amazing with it, but I’m so bad at applying them ugh..

I used a brown color, from the I heart Makeup Chocolate palette as a transition shade. The color Pistol is going into the crease and a bit on the eyelid. For the outher V I use the shade Blackout, this one is also going onto the lower lashline. The color Verve is going onto the beginning of the eyelid, to create a light ombre. Last step, a bit eyeliner and mascara to finish the look.

For the face makeup I used my usual routine, bbcream, concealer, some contour, blush and highlighter to warm up the face.

For lips I used the NYX Matte Soft Lipcream in Rome.

That’s the finished makeup look!

I was wearing a silver glitter top from H&M with a denim jacket and black jeans, but I totally forgot to take a picture oops.

Let’s hope 2017 is a better year than 2016. Have a nice day! xxx

Natural Winter Makeup

This look feels perfect for the winter season. I always like to keep it natural, with winged eyeliner and a pretty lipcolor. I recently purchased the NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in the color London. It is a beautiful nude color, it reminds me of MAC Velvet Teddy. When I created this makeup look with that lipcolor, for me it seemed to be the perfect everyday winter makeup. It is a very safe look, you can’t really go wrong with it.

For the base you can use what you want, foundation, bbcream, concealer. Just create a flawless base. Also I contoured a bit using the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette, used a soft pink blush from essence (number 20 Babydoll) to give my face some color. I tried to keep it natural.

Now for the more important parts of this look, the eyes and the lips. For the eyes I used my Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette. I always like to use a brown color in the crease, and a highlighting/shimmery color on the eyelid. In this case I used Almond Truffle and Mocha in the crease, Satin Sheets on the eyelid and Divinity on the brown bone. With the NYC high definition liquid liner I made a wing and I used the Maybelline Falsies mascara to finish it. (And again I forgot the photograph the mascara, sigh)

For the lips I used the NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in London. I love these, they are good quality. The color London is new in my collection, but it’s the perfect nude color for me. And it is almost the same as MAC Velvet Teddy

Here is the eyeshadow a bit more showable. Excuse my bad closeup photograph skills, I tried but it were awkward photos haha, so I decided to put full face photos in this post instead.

Thank you so much for reading, have a nice day!

NYX Soft Matte Lipcream | Swatches

In my previous post I wrote about my new NYX Soft Matte Lipcreams. I remembered that when I was deciding which I wanted, the colors in the packaging look very different from the colors on the lips. For me it was a bit confusing. So I wanted you to show what the colors really look like. I will show you all the colors I own.

Copenhagen – Rome – Budapest – Milan – Istanbul

I was not very creative in choosing different colors, they all look a like. But they are still all a bit different. The reason that the colors look a like is because these colors are my favorite for lipsticks.

As you can see the colors on my arm look a bit different than the colors in the packaging. For me this was confusing in the store. For example, Milan looks darker and more pink on the lips than in the package.

Copenhagen is dark red/purple (plum?) color. It’s beautiful and perfect for fall. On the picture it looks more red than purple, but it is actually more purple. I made a ton of pictures but on all photos it turned out more red than it really is.

Rome is a more brownish color. For me it is a ‘my lips but better’ color. Also this color looks a bit darker in real than on the picture. My phone makes really light pictures I guess. I’m sorry for that. But I think Rome is a beautiful everyday color, especially for fall and winter.

Budapest looks like Rome, but darker. I feel like it is a combination between Copenhagen and Rome, but more brownish than purple. Also very nice for fall and winter.

Milan is so different from the other lip creams that I’ve showed. It’s pink! It is a beautiful dark pink color, but not too neon or screaming pink. I bought it in the summer, I feel like it is a summer color. But it is also dark enough for the winter or fall if you want some color! ( but why would you care about other people’s opinions? Just wear whatever you want!)

Ps. As you can see my lips started to get a bit dry, they couldn’t handle all these lipsticks and rubbing it off haha. One more to go!

Istanbul is a light pink color. I have mixed feelings about it. I think it is a beautiful color, but sometimes it is too light for me and other times I really like it. I don’t really now. But it is a beautiful color for sure!

That were all the swatches of the NYX Soft Matte Lipcreams that I own. I hope you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for reading!
